My approach

I’m a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and apply an integrative approach adapted to each client’s individual needs.

To the therapeutic relationship, I bring depth and breadth of experience, openness, compassion and humour. A touch of the rebel also lurks not far below the surface and I find the process of working with clients towards breaking free of self-limiting beliefs and conditioning hugely rewarding.

Having lived in a number of countries, I am comfortable working with people from different cultural backgrounds. As well as English, my native language, I have a solid grasp of the Portuguese, Spanish and French languages.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling, am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with the BACP’s ethical framework. There is a brief outline of the psychosynthesis approach on the FAQs page.

According to your preference, sessions can be online, in person at my home-based practice in Blackheath or a blend of the two.

I have been working with Simon for a year and a half and the therapy has been, frankly, life changing. Simon arrives to every session with professionalism, warmth and generosity, and his approach of linking talking therapy and more embodied techniques is handled with unflagging care and attentiveness.” – W.K.

“Simon is very warm and welcoming. He makes me feel heard and creates a safe environment to be vulnerable. I also really enjoy the free-flowing nature of our sessions, allowing different themes to be discussed and uncovered. Working with Simon has had a positive impact on my life, giving me pearls of wisdom I can carry throughout life.” – M.T.

Simon and I worked together for just over a year and he helped me massively. We used a range of different techniques to help me overcome my struggles and he was always understanding and extremely easy to talk to.” – C.M.
